![]() ![]() German musician Nils Frahm is renowned for fusing aspects of classical and electronic music, as well as for playing keyboards and pianos in a highly unusual manner. Noire offers the supreme experience of hearing a special instrument being played by a famous performer over an equally famous background. ![]() A variety of possibilities that might incite any music producer looking for a new piano texture are provided by this cutting-edge and unique virtual instrument, which combines modulation and envelope controls with an arpeggiator and a collection of rich-sounding algorithms. The goal of Piano Colors from Native Instruments is to replicate the distinctive sound of the grand piano while also providing a variety of tools to enable it to be used in even the most sophisticated contemporary projects. Additionally, the envelope parameters provide modulation choices that let you extend this alteration as far as your creativity will allow. The “Color,” “Tonal Shift,” and “Dynamic” adjustments in the “Tone” section can modernize the sound of a traditional piano. An expanded component of this collection is devoted to fine-tuning the sound of your grand piano. This engine creates new notes on its own and gives your performance an additional sonic layer. To better fit the innovative and daring musical concepts needed for contemporary music creation, a set of algorithms was painstakingly created. One aspect that distinguishes this plugin from others is the true “Particles” engine. This is the Best Kontakt Piano Library in 2022. With different configurations like “Humanize Time” and “Velocity,” this tool may instantly generate a range of nuances and musical ideas by constructing ever-changing sequences and randomized patterns. The arpeggiator, a characteristic found frequently in synthesizers, is put on this virtual instrument in a very original way. Using unorthodox techniques, the strings and body of a grand piano were played, and the accompanying acoustic effects were meticulously captured using the most cutting-edge recording technology, resulting in a wide variety of energizing resonances, expressive harmonics, and vibrant overtones. The large collection of source samples in Piano Colors were recorded using a variety of strange instruments, including hammers, drumsticks, rubber, screws, and many EBows. This plug-in turns harmonically rich samples into energizing hues that can be combined, shaped, and played back to produce a piece of original flowing music. Real-time morphing of complex sounds produces emotive timbres, organically pulsing beats, and ever-evolving pads. This plugin’s cleverness is in the symbiotic relationship it creates between its extensive library of distinctive grand piano articulations and the imaginative modulation engines (which include the “Arpeggiator” and the recently expanded “Particles”). ![]() ![]() ![]() In our experience, the small amount of CBD present in the Dosist Sleep cartridge (the ratio is 8:1 THC:CBD) didn’t seem to provide any sleep-inducing benefits. You can only stay in sword mode for a limited amount of time (which is recharged by attacking a monster while in axe mode). As you might’ve guessed, the axe can transform-into a sword. This is a giant axe that’s as tall as I am, with attacks spanning from slow-and-heavy skullsplitting slams to quick slices that can chain into each other. My main weapon in Rise is called a switch-axe, or “swaxe” if you’re nasty-and I am. The major thing that sets Monster Hunter games apart from other action RPGs, though, is the sheer depth of the combat, and to even begin to explain that I’m going to have to use an example. You have stats and skills that you improve iteratively, but the core gameplay is real-time combat with monsters where you need to dodge and time your attacks. Let’s start with what exactly this game is. All the mechanical density and design details really come together in satisfying moments where you get to smash a giant transforming sword-axe into a roaring monster’s face mid-charge, breaking off its horn and sending it tumbling onto its ass. There just aren’t that many games that blend the addictive make-numbers-go-up motivators of RPGs with the compelling get-better-at-execution motivators of fighting games the way Monster Hunter Rise does. Once you can break through and get used to enough of the Monster-Hunter-isms, you’ll find the rich flavors of something that isn’t really found elsewhere. ![]() Rise is absolutely the best first Monster Hunter game to play, but you still need to learn how to play a Monster Hunter game. You used to need to consult a fucking fan wiki just to know which parts of the monster you were supposed to hit. It’s hard to overstate just how much Monster Hunter World changed things. 2018’s Monster Hunter World was a revolution for the series in terms of quality-of-life improvements and general approachability, which is part of what made it Capcom’s best-selling title to date (finally unseating 2009’s Resident Evil 5). The Monster Hunter games have historically been really esoteric (despite their incredibly simple titular premise), which I think is part of why they hadn’t been that big outside of Japan for the first 5-10 years of the series. Monster Hunter Rise is the better title in terms of gameplay and multiplayer access, but people who are playing the game at launch are experiencing it with only seven ranks worth of content.I want to recommend Monster Hunter Rise to you, especially now that the Sunbreak expansion is out.īut recommending the sixth mainline console release of the Monster Hunter series feels a little bit like recommending the sixth season of The Expanse: it’s good, but if you haven’t been following it all along, you probably feel like you’ve missed the boat already. In Monster Hunter’s case, “the boat” isn’t several installments of plot or lore (the series has no story to speak of across games), it’s several installments of familiarity with the game’s mechanics. The people who are looking for more content should definitely go for Monster Hunter World, especially as it still has an active player community. Monster Hunter Rise has considerably less content at the moment, as it will be following a similar update schedule. Monster Hunter World received a lot of free content updates and crossovers throughout its run, including the paid Iceborne expansion. One major difference to take into consideration is content. The draw of Monster Hunter is fighting the monsters, not the background for why they need fighting. It bears mentioning that Monster Hunter Rise isn't as story-focused as Monster Hunter World, but the narrative has never been the series' strong point. The restriction that Monster Hunter World used for seeing monsters for the first time is gone, which means that it's easier than ever to play through the missions alongside friends. The biggest improvement is the multiplayer, as it's now easy to drop into hunts with other players online. ![]() |
